The contest will be held this Saturday, May 19, from 12-4.

There will be four divisions:

2nd-5th / Middle School / High School / 18+

All contestants get a one minute qualifier run.  Top scores will get a deciding final run.

Prizes will be awarded as follows:

1st Place- Trophy, Deck, Tee-shirt

2nd Place- Deck, Tee-shirt

3rd Place- Wheels, Tee-shirt

Registration/Check-in  begins at 11 a.m.  the day of the contest.

You can pre-register at Jerics or Plainfield Park District.

Pre-registration $5- Day of $1o.

All contestants must wear a helmet and sign a waiver.

I can hear that cheer as if it where yesterday.  Although I was never a PJC Cheerleader or Football player, many of my friends growing up were. I do know that Plainfield has always supported PJC and has watched some of their players go on to play not only in High School and College but also in the NFL.  

If you have child interested in playing football or cheering and would like to have them involved in a program steeped in 40 years of tradition then stop on by the Village Hall this Friday, May 18th.  Registration for the Plainfield Jr. Cats will take place  from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30  p.m.

After this final walk-in registration, fees will increase and wait lists are a possibility

The Will County CrackerJacks are a summer collegiate baseball club.  They recruit current college baseball players from across the country with a focus on the Chicago area and Will County to participate in league play and the Midwest Collegiate League playoffs.

The goal of the CrackerJacks is to establish a new standard for summer collegiate baseball and become one of the premier summer collegiate baseball organizations in the country.  In the 2011 inaugural season the Will County Cracker Jacks set that standard by winning the 2011 Midwest Collegiate League Championship!!

All home games are played at Brennan Field, located on the campus of Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill.

Mystery Photo Monday!!

Eich’s Sports Summer Camps will provide the kids a chance to get up and move all summer long!  These camps will also provide an opportunity to meet new friends from the area and have a blast both indoors and outdoors!

Kids will enjoy all different sports including baseball/softball, soccer, basketball, kick ball and more!  Plus they will play fun and active Physical Education Games including capture the flag, dodgeball, parachute activities and more!

They have both youth camps (ages 6-10) and middle school camps (ages 10-12).  They have 5 sessions running from June 4th until August 10- join one or all!

Camps run from 8:45 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Time frame not work for your schedule?  No worries!  They also offer extend hours camp for those who need before or after camp care!

To participate in the Stamp Out Hunger drive, Plainfield residents are encouraged to leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods, such as canned soup and vegetables, pasta, and rice or cereal next to their mailbox prior to the time of regular mail delivery on Saturday, May 12. Local letter carriers will collect these food donations as they deliver the mail and take them to the Plainfield Interfaith Food Pantry.

We have made the decision to sell RoSal’s in Plainfield and focus on our family, RoSal’s in the City, & our volunteer work. We have had an amazing 4.5 years here in Plainfield and treasure our new friends and business relationships. Our success has been because of you!

365 Plainfield would not be where it is today without the love and support of Cyndi and RoSal’s.  They immediately jumped on board and helped me promote the site, they sponsored several Mystery Photo Mondays and always reached out to their followers, asking them to connect with us.  For this I will be forever grateful.

While I know this is just the beginning of great things for them… it is bittersweet for our entire community!
